Alan R. Brodsky, age 73, of Emerson, NJ, passed away after a long illness, on Wednesday morning June 7, 2017 at his home with his wife at his side. Beloved husband of Barbara Brodsky. Dear step-father of Randy Nies. Loving brother of Sandra Bockian and her husband Fred. Dear uncle of Neil Bockian and his children Yaakov and Chaya Bockian and Jeffrey Bockian and his wife Kari and their children Jackson and Nicholas Bockian. Prior to his retirement, Alan was a Guidance Counselor for various schools in the Englewood New Jersey School System. Alan was a member of the Jewish Community Center of Paramus/Congregation Beth Tikvah in Paramus. Alan was a great poker player and will be missed by his poker pals. Services will be 1:15 PM Friday, June 9, 2017 at Louis Suburban Chapel, 13-01 Broadway (Route 4 West), Fair Lawn, NJ. Burial will follow at Beth El Cemetery, Paramus, NJ. Donations in memory of Alan R. Brodsky may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. www.stjude.org
