The funeral of Mrs. Laura C. Payne was held at the Sparta Church of Christ on Tuesday, with burial in the Sparta Cemetery under the direction of the Sparta Funeral Home, Rathbun and Chaffin. Mrs. Payne, who was 71 years old, was Laura Wall before her marriage in 1892. Her husband died over a year ago, and she was a member of the Church of Christ for over 40 years. She is survived by four children: Loy of Fresno, Calif.; Roy of Napa, Calif., Orval Payne and Mrs. Lynn Shipman of the home address; one brother, Mr. George Washington Wall of Salida, Colo.; 15 grandchildren and many other relatives. Preceding her in death was her her parents, Beverly E. & Mary L. Wall; one brother, Fannon (Frank) Edward Wall.
