Ollie Coleman Foster peacefully departed this life to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Harold and Nanette Foster. She was 91. She was a resident of Shreveport, Louisiana. She retired from the Caddo Parish School Board following many years of employment as a school bus driver. She accepted the Lord at age thirteen and faithfully served Him as a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church until her death. She was also a community activist and was instrumental in the organization of the Oak Hill community. Through this organization, many good things were done in the community. She will be remembered as a devoted and loving wife, daughter, mother, grandmother and sister. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clovis Foster; her parents, Allen and Mary Coleman; son, Clifford Foster; four sisters, Cora Knapper, Albertine Johnson, Alma Roberson and Aletha Baker; and two brothers, Allen Coleman, Jr. and Emerson Coleman. She is survived by her children, Richard Foster (Patricia), Herbert Foster (Pearl), Bonnie Jackson (Carl), Harold Foster (Nanette), Ronald Foster (Bonnie), Ervin Foster and Terri Oliver (Erick); two step-sons, Arthur James (Geneva) and Clovis Foster, Jr.; two step-daughters, Lois Prince and Clovis Lee Hardee; four brothers, Dover L. Coleman, Clinton Coleman (Lois), Edward C. Coleman and Vernon Coleman (Karen); one sister, Bennie Ruth Beckwith; three chosen daughters, Cassandra Williams (Mack), Sara Poole (Robert) and Patricia Anderson (Maurice); loyal friend of many years, Louise Burton; 24 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and many nephews, nieces, and friends.
