WINCHESTER--Danny Lee Lewis, Sr., 64, passed away in Spring Hill, FL.
He was born on Aug. 19,1952, to Robert E. and Donna J. (Harting) Lewis of Winchester.
Danny graduated from WCHS in 1970. After graduation, he joined the US Army, where he served 18 years, 7 of those years were spent in Germany. During his time spent in the service, Danny received several medals and ribbons which include: Army Service Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon, Army Commendation Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He was a member of American Legion Post 39 for 36 years. Danny was an OTR driver for 28 years. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He also enjoyed bringing laughter to those around him.
Danny was preceded in death by his father, Robert E. Lewis: material grandparents, Ed and Lorene Harting; paternal grandparents, Robert N. Lewis and Nan Curry; a sister-in-law, Deb Lewis and a niece, Krista Whistler.
Danny is survived by his mother, Donna J. Lewis of Winchester; Danny's Fiancee: Karen Conti of Spring Hill, FL; Grandma Elsie of Winchester; children: Danny (Sarah) Lewis Jr. of Lima, OH, Kristina (Frank) Ricketts of Mt. Washington, KY, Brian Lewis of Carmi, ILL and Tammi-Anne Sessa of CT; siblings: Sharon (John) Herron of Winchester and Keith Lewis of Ft. Recovery, OH; uncle, Jack Lewis of Parker City; grandchildren: Sara, Tania, Shayna, Quinton, Jonathan, Siarra, Frankie and Aurianna; two great-grandchildren: Laten and Xiomara; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and adopted family members.
Memorial service will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 13,2017 at the Walker Funeral Home in Winchester with Steve McCoy officiating. Burial will follow at Fountain Park Cemetery with military honors.
