Jeffrey Thomas DeVault, age 65, of Marengo, passed away at his home, Wednesday afternoon, June 7, 2017, with his loving family by his side.

On February 3, 1952, Jeff was born in Columbus, OH, the son of the late Bert Francis and Mary Ann (McCabe) DeVault. He graduated from Brookhaven High School in the Class of 1972 and furthered his education at the American School of Technology, specializing in HVAC.

Jeff married the love of his life, Lanita Faught on May 26, 1973 in Columbus. They shared a special bond as husband and wife the last 44 years.

For more than 20 years, Jeff worked for Commercial Parts and Services as a refrigeration tech.

Jeff enjoyed watching all sports and his favorite team was the Cincinnati Bengals. He also liked being outside working in his vegetable garden or hunting squirrel. He especially cherished time spent with his children and grandchildren.

Jeff will be dearly missed by his wife, Lanita, of Marengo; two daughters: Micheal (John) Dickerson of Cardington, Tara (David) Snyder of Waldo; a son, Thomas DeVault of Marengo; six grandchildren: McKinsey Reed, Adam (Katie) Reed Jr., Aaron Reed, Brooke (Jordan) Brewster, Tiara Snyder, Kyle Snyder; two great grandchildren: Kain Reed, Elijah Brewster; four step-grandchildren: Lindsay, Brandi, John III, Sammy; a sister, Denise DeVault of Columbus; and two brothers: his twin, Dale DeVault of Columbus and Harry DeVault of Columbus.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Beverly Marcum.

The DeVault family will greet friends from 1 – 3 p.m. on Monday, June 12, 2017, at the Snyder Funeral Home, Craven Chapel, 67 N. Main St., Mount Gilead. Services to honor and celebrate his life will be held there at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Donna Ball officiating. Burial will follow at Glendale Cemetery in Cardington.

Memorial contributions may be made to the DeVault family to assist with final expenses.
