Obituary

Gloria Sherman, of West Surry Rd., Keene, passed away at her home after a brief illness.

She was born in Marlborough, the daughter of Eino and Dessie (Hiscock) Annala. She attended schools in Marlborough, Troy as well as Keene State College.

She resided in Boylston, MA., for 16 years before moving to Keene in 1963. While a resident of Boylston, she modeled clothes for several department stores in the Worcester area. In 1983, she modeled vintage clothes at a show at June and Johnny Cash's "House of Cash", in Hendersonville, TN.

She was an avid collector of memorabilia of the Royal Family of England and twice had the opportunity to see the Queen Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh, once in Halifax Nova Scotia in 1959 and again in Sussex, New Brunswick in 2002. She gave presentations to many clubs regarding the Royal Family. Other collections include memorabilia on John and Jacqueline Kennedy during the White House years.

She was active in the Cheshire Republican Women's Club, and was a Past President of The Keene Women's Club, which, while President in 1975, she was a part of the campaign to purchase Cheshire Medical Center's first Mammogram Machine. She also belonged to the Marlborough Alumni Association.

She is survived by her son: Spencer R. Sherman of Keene; her daughter: Kimberlee Lenzen and her husband Gregory; a granddaughter: Jacquelyn Lenzen; a grandson: Brandon Lenzen and his wife Ashleigh; and two great grandchildren, all of Atlanta, GA.; a longtime friend: Carleton R. Woodward of Keene, as well as several cousins.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, at 11:00 am, in the Mountain View Cemetery in Troy, all are welcome. There will be no Public Calling Hours.
