Delores graduated from Guymon High School, Guymon, Oklahoma in 1951 and moved to Hutchinson to attend Salt City Business College. After graduation, she worked at Far-Mar-Co, Baize and Son Jewelers, and Union National Bank, where she received the President's Customer Service Award. She retired from Commerce Bank in 1994.
Delores married Eual E. Cook on September 1, 1957. They were married for 42 years until his death.
Delores was a member of the Uvedale Chapter of the DAR in Hutchinson and attended First Church of God. Delores was an avid reader, spent many hours pursuing her interest in genealogy, and enjoyed playing dominoes with friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers, Lawrence Smith and Fay Smith, and an infant sister. Survivors include her daughter Jennifer R. Cook (Matthew Goddard) of Topeka, a cousin, Kay (Kenneth) Brinkley, of Amarillo, Texas and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday, June 23, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave, Hutchinson. Burial will take place at Partridge Cemetery, Partridge. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
