Gail F. Brown, 66, of Chub Lake/Carlton, passed away Saturday, Dec. 23, 2006 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth, after a short stoic battle with cancer. She was born Jan. 26, 1940 in Ely, Minn. to William and Martha (Maki) Walsh and graduated from Cloquet High School. Gail was united in marriage to Donald Brown on Nov. 5, 1960 in Carlton. She worked as an accountant for Potlatch and Sappi Corp. for many years. Gail was a longtime member, elder and treasurer for J.M. Paine Memorial Presbyterian Church in Carlton. She was a woman of deep faith. Gail enjoyed fishing, was a great walleye guide, and also enjoyed being a Minnesota Twins fan. She was a caring wife, mother, and grandmother and would do anything for a friend or stranger. Gail was preceded in death by her father. She is survived by her husband, Donald; her mother, Martha Walsh of Duluth; one daughter, Dawn (Gerald) Shoberg of Carlton; two sons, Gregg Brown of Nashville, Tenn. and Andrew (Kellie) Brown of Louisville, Ky.; one brother, Glenn (Lori) Walsh of Prescott, Ariz.; one sister, Kathleen (Michael) Levinski of Duluth; 5 grandchildren, Marcus, Gabby, Rosie, Olivia, and Eli; and many extended family members. VISITATION:5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2006 at the J.M. Paine Memorial Presbyterian Church in Carlton. The visitation will resume on Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2006 from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. memorial service also at J.M. Paine Memorial Presbyterian Church, followed with a luncheon in the social hall. The family has selected Nelson Funeral Care to assist them with arrangements. See their online guest book at www.legacy.com In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the J.M.
