Eva Nora Boyd, 79, of Independence, MO passed away June 5, 2017 with her loving family by her side. Visitation will be for 9-10am Monday, June 12, 2017 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 10 am at the chapel. Eva was born on March 30, 1938 in Lamar, Mo to Virgil and Naomi (Ashburn) Rogers. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and playing the slots. Her greatest joy and achievement was her family. Her love knew no bounds and she was completely devoted to her children and grandchildren. For many years Eva worked in several establishments around town including Green Gables, where she loved meeting people. Survivors include; sons Robbie Boyd, Randy Boyd, Kerry Boyd, Jerry Lane, Jr., and Donald Campbell; daughter Cheryl Thomas and her husband Read; grand children Pamela and Peyton Boyd, Erika and Jesse Lane, and Lily and Ella Campbell; great grandchildren Melodie and Bailey Edgington, Jasxon and Raven Blaise and 1 one the way; sisters Paula Yeager, Tora Nebitt; brother Claron Rogers; a large extended family and many friends. Eva is preceded in death by her parents, children Janice, Janet Boyd, and Melody Lane, sisters Goldie Myers, Sharon Irwin, brothers Eldon Rogers, Donald Rogers, and Robert Rogers. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Cancer Action or Crossroads Hospice.
