McCAMPBELL, Frieda B.
Frieda "Buffy" McCampbell, of Lake Worth, was born January 14, 1922, passed away July 2, 2015. She was the daughter of Harry Bouffleur and Ruth (Powers) Bouffleur Brestler. Buffy, as she was known to all, is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Leah and Andrew Paller of West Hartford, CT, two grandsons, Joshua and his wife Johanna Paller of Norwalk, CT and Aaron Paller of Ocala, FL. Most recently Buffy celebrated the birth of her great-granddaughter Effie, occasioned by a gathering of all her family. Buffy was predeceased by her parents, two brothers and her husbands Herbert Casper VanLandingham and Captain David McCampbell (USN Ret). Buffy was an incredibly vibrant person, and especially loved visiting and dining with friends and family, and caring for her dog, Dougie. Until sickness and frailty claimed her independence, she never sat still! She made many steadfast friends who will miss her sorely. Special among these friends were Donna Jo Ealy and Marilyn Hawkins of Lake Worth, FL. Buffy was like "family" to both, and their care and compassion for her during these last years have been a blessing. She worked for Southern Bell Telephone for over 30 years. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and a graduate of St. Ann's High School in West Palm Beach. A memorial service will be held at Quattlebaum Funeral Home at 5411 Okeechobee Blvd in West Palm Beach on Friday, July 31, at 11:00AM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that visitors consider a donation to Hospice of Palm Beach County, 5300 East Avenue, West Palm Beach, FL 33407, whose care during her final weeks was extraordinary.
