She is finally whole, free from confusion and sorrow, after her long battle with Dementia. Kay loved the Lord and walked her faith every day. She worked as a second grade teacher, but her talent for art, her love of music, and her sweet spirit is how she is remembered best. Kay had a gift for hospitality, and her graciousness made everyone feel loved and welcome. She is predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Michael G. Carpenter.
Left to cherish her memory: a daughter, Stephanie C. Fowler and husband, Jamisson, of Norfolk; three grandchildren, Zachary, Grant, and William Fowler; and a sister, Sue Oglesby Boyette and husband, James, of Chesapeake.
The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Dr. Chapel on Thursday, June 8, 2017, from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, June 9, 2017, at Trinity Presbyterian Church by Rev. Jack Howell. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com
