Robert Elwood Beavers

Robert Elwood Beavers passed on the morning of June 7th, 2017 in Lafayette, IN and recently resided in Roanoke, IN. Born on May 25th, 1924 to Mark Kennedy Beavers and Hazel Naomi Yackels of Defiance, OH. A graduate of Defiance High School class of 1942. Served WWII as an Army Air Corp pilot. Later becoming a 1949 Electrical Engineering graduate from Purdue University. His marriage to Paula Teresa Nels was in August 1950 and together they had two sons, David Mark of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Alan Beavers (wife: Vickie) of Dayton, IN.

His career in the pioneering of global communications systems placed him in locations around the world and some teaching positions. Some clients and employment were with AT&T, Bell South, and NASA. Robert enjoyed flying planes, sailing, and distant travels. A man who tinkered on projects, offered witty barbs, and easily made friends.

Cremated remains will be interred at the family's Riverside Cemetery in Defiance, OH. Now his soul will soar beyond the bounds of this earth. Godspeed!
