BERLIN - Funeral services
for Miss Emily J. Spence, 39,
employe of the Ralston Purina
Co. plant here were held Thursday
in the Calvary United Methodist
Church, Newark, Md.

Calvary is the former St. Peter's
Church. Miss Spence was
among the six killed in a cartruck
collision Sunday north of
Snow Hill.

The pastor, the Rev. E.M.
Gladden, officiated. Interment
was in Cedar Chapel Cemetery,
Newark.

Miss Spence was born here
and was a daughter of Horace
Spence, living in Wilmington
and the late Mrs. Minnie Spence.

Surviving are three children,
Marine Pvt. Wayne Spence, stationed
in Vietnam, Mrs. Audrey
Duncan, Philadelphia, and Miss
Sheila Spence, Berlin; one
grandson, two sisters, Mrs.
Thelma Purnell and Miss Evelyn
Spence, both of here, and
five brothers, Thomas Spence,
Wilmington, Marshall Spence,
Albany, N.Y., and Otha Tingle,
and Robert and Theodore Spence,
all of here.
