Thomas Edward “Ed” Amos, 82, died on June 2, 2017 in Tampa, FL while under the care of Moffitt Cancer Center. He was born into this life on August 25, 1934 in Paxton, FL to the late Nollie and Vera Whitehurst Amos. He leaves behind his wife of 41yrs., Janet Amos, Dunnellon; his son, Kent Amos (Cynthia), Mobile, AL; his daughters, Cheryl Amos Hellums, Gulfbreeze, FL; Vicki Gladwell (John), Titusville, FL; his brother, Alfred Amos, Houston, TX; his sister, Ann Carlton (James), Savannah, GA; his grandchildren, Amy (Jeff), Ashley, Tyler, Drew, Kelly and his great grandchildren, Emmett and Jaxon.

Ed has been a resident of Dunnellon for 31yrs. He was a US Coast Guard Veteran of the Korean War In Air Sea Rescue and Pharmacist Mate from 1951-1954 and then Reserves until 1959. Ed attended the University of Florida and was an avid Gator fan and was currently employed at Ace Hardware in Dunnellon for 20yrs. up until his passing. He will be dearly missed by all his family and friends.

A Celebration of Ed’s life will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Roberts Funeral Home Chapel in Dunnellon at 2:00 PM. His family request that all Gator fans can wear orange and blue or come casually dressed. Inurnment will take place at Dunnellon Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers his family prefers memorial contributions be made to the Moffitt Cancer Center Foundation: 12902 Magnolia Drive, Tampa, FL 33612 (moffitt.org/donate)
