Thomas Edwin Sumner, 49, Wolf, Oklahoma resident died Saturday, June 3, 2017 in Seminole, Oklahoma, Thomas was known by many names such as; " Bubby", "Bubba" and "Bub". Thomas was born August 28, 1967 in Modesto, California to Gerald Edwin Sumner and Shirley Jerlene (Frazier) Sumner.
Thomas moved to the Seminole area six years ago from Jay, Oklahoma. He was a truck driver and ran long hauls for many years and recently did mostly short runs. He was a member of the Temple of Praise Church in Seminole, Oklahoma and a member of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma. Thomas loved to work on trucks, be with his family and grandchildren, tell jokes and was a wonderful friend to all who knew him. He was known as a person that would give you the shirt off his back and was always there when you needed him.
Thomas married Michelle Demings Sumner on March 13, 2013 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
He is survived by his wife Michelle Sumner of Wolf, Oklahoma, two sons Kassin Sumner of Hugo, Oklahoma and Dorian Rackley of Wewoka, Oklahoma, one daughter Bryttany Sumner of Modesto, California, his step-sons, Dustin Mullen, Chad Mullen and Johnathon Hodge, his sister Tammy Buchanan and her husband Brett of Hugo, Oklahoma and two grandchildren Andrew Mullen and Callie Hodge, his nieces Mandy and her husband Chance Edwards of Hugo, Oklahoma, Teneshia Hester and her husband Ian of Valliant, Oklahoma; his nephew Jake Buchanan and his wife Taylor of Purcell, Oklahoma; his great nieces Nataley and Aubree and great nephew Tranden, one step brother Shawn Wilkins and his wife Valerie, and their children Chelsea, and Adam.
He was preceded in death by his parents Gerald Sumner and Shirley Sumner Wilkins, his grandparents, an aunt Sarah, and two uncles Larry and Tom.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday June 10, 2017 at the Temple of Praise Church in Seminole, Oklahoma, with Pastor Jeff Nance officiating. Burial will follow at Wolf Cemetery.
