Donald Keith Hartley, 71, of Circleville, formerly of Trimble, passed away Friday June 2, 2017 at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Columbus.

Born Aug. 9, 1945 in Millfield, he was the son of the late William and Lillian Mae Williams Hartley.

He was a U.S. Army veteran in Vietnam and retired from Pepsi Co. in Athens. He was a lifetime member of The Plains V.F.W. and a two time Past Master of the Trimble Masonic Lodge. Keith enjoyed watching old movies and playing video games.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Schall Hartley of Circleville; two sons, Steven Hartley Jr. and Justin (Taylor) Hartley, both of Gallipolis; two daughters, Tina (Mike) Hutton of Lancaster and Keesha Hartley of Circleville; two stepsons, Edd, Craig (Stacy), and Kenny (Becky) Scott; four grandchildren, Emma and Zoey Hartley, Clayton Hutton, and Holly Jeffers; and five step-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Bill, Charles, and Danny Hartley; two half brothers, Jack and Bob Smith; and a sister, Ellen Kay Frank.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday June 7, 2017 at the Morrison Funeral Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville with John Wright officiating.

Memorial presented and maintained in conjunction with Murphy Nation, a multi-generational family history gateway dedicated to celebrating, documenting, preserving and providing increased awareness and access for the Murphy family pioneers of Morgan County, Ohio and their descendants and families.


Interment will be in the Hilltop Cemetery, Millfield where there will be a military graveside service conducted by the United States Army and the Combined Color Guard Unit.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
