Violet Winona Helmick, 78, of Gormania, WV, passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at Future Care Chesapeake, Arnold, MD.
Born September 17, 1938, in Mount Zion, MD, she was the daughter of the late Walter Gordon and Nora Francis (Knox) Fike.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lee Helmick; three brothers, Stuart, William and Elmer Fike; a sister, Beulah Beeman.
Violet was a homemaker.
She is survived by three daughters, Debra, Patricia and Mary, all of Baltimore, MD; two brothers, Harold, Mt. Lake Park, MD; Dennis, Oakland, MD; one sister, Janet, Oakland; four grandchildren, Cheyenne, Allen, Thomas, and Jeremy; three great-grandchildren, Isabelle, Sophie and Winyu.
Friends will be received at Newman Funeral Homes P.A. on
Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, May 27, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Kenneth Fike officiating.
Interment will be in Bayard Cemetery, Bayard, WV.
