Gloucester: Netha Ruby Pate, 85, passed away on June 3, 2017. Ruby was born in New Franklin, Missouri on August 8, 1931 to George N. McGuire and Brynina S. McGuire. She was a waitress at the Blue Star Diner in Newport News for many years.
She was preceded in death by parents and her husband, Donald Eugene Pate, Sr.
She is survived by six children, Dr. Terry White (Wayne), Donald Beale, Jr. (Trina), Gerald Beale, John Beale (Dawn), Steven Beale (Gail) and Kenneth Walker (Jennifer); 22 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren; her twin sister, Netha “Ruth” Alexander; and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral service officiated by Reverend Jason Van Bemmel will be held 2 p.m. Friday, June 9, 2017, at Peninsula Memorial Park. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, June 8, 2017, from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point.
