Gary was born on November 2, 1952, in Havre to Raymond C. and Virginia M. (Ury) Vaughn. He was raised in Havre, attending Devlin Elementary, Havre Junior High, and Havre High School. Following his school years, Gary entered the US Army and was stationed in Germany for two years. He was honorably discharged in 1973, and returned home to Havre, where he worked as a mechanic for the next 40+ years, most recently at Vaughn Truck Sales.
Gary enjoyed coin collecting, camping, fishing, and just about anything in the outdoors. He loved travling Montana, and his favorite pastime was exploring the Big Sky country.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Virginia Vaughn.
Gary is survived by his beloved cat, Mollie; his sisters, Marilyn Vaughn of San Antonio, TX, and Louellen (Steve) Lairy of Havre; his niece Alicia Lairy of Missoula; his nephew Colter Lairy of Big Fork; and numerous cousins and friends.
