Willie Thacker
It is with much sadness that I try to write the obituary of our dear Dad, Willie Thacker. He was born Feb. 26, 1886. He deceased Oct. 1, 1972, making his stay on earth 86 years, 7 months, & 4 days. He was born in Pike County, Ky. He was the son of the late Albert & Mary Ann Justice Thacker. He was married to the former Catherine Blackburn, who preceded him in death. To this union were born 14 children. 7 boys & 7 girls. He leaves 6 sons & 4 daughters & 29 grandchildren & 30 Great Grandchildren and 4 brothers, Martin, Sidney, Ky.; John, Appy & Elder Joe Thacker of Canada, Ky. & a host of friends to mourn our loss. He stayed with Opa and Allene for over 9 years after mother's departure from this life. He was a great inspiration to us. We love him so dearly & he was so good to us. He died in Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio following a short illness. Dad was a retired miner. Dad was loved by all who knew him. Dad never joined any visible church here but loved the old Primitive Baptist Church and was a strong believer in salvation by the grace of God & read his Bible every day. He went to church up in 60 years as often as a member. He was dearly loved by all who knew him & we feel assured that our loss is his eternal gain.

Written by his Son in hope of eternal life,
Elder Opa Thacker, Goshen, Ohio
