SISTER LEONIDA MEYERS Sister Leonida Meyers, 80, died at St. Cloud hospital March 3. For 60 years she was a professed member of the sisters of St. Benedict. She was born March 13, 1880, in Neidenbach, Germany, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George M. Neidenbach, the sixth child in a family of eight. Lucy Neidenbach entered St. Benedict's from Hastings where her parents moved in May, 1882. She became Sister Leonida July 10, 1900, the date of her reception into the community of St. Benedict. In August, 1951 she made her golden jubilee of profession. As a teacher she served in the following schools: From 1901-20 at Richfield, Lake Henry, Pierz, Cathedral High school and Staples. In 1920 she became secretary to Mother Louise, prioress of the community. In 1928 she was sub prioress at St. Benedict's until 1937. From 1938 60 she served at the following missions as superior St. Joseph and St. Ann's. Minneapolis; St. Cloud hospital; St. Mary's Cathedral convent, St. Cloud; Cold Spring, Maple Lake and Holy Family convent at Albany. In December, 1960, she came to the infirmary at the Mother House. Surviving is a brother, George Meyers, Las Vegas, Nev. The solemn mass of requiem will be offered Monday at 9 a.m. at St. Benedict's following the office of the dead which begins at 8 a.m.
