Betty Jo Story, 86, of Colonial Heights, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2017, at Chippenham Medical Center. She was born November 17, 1930, to the late Walter Clark and Lillian Beaver Pixley and was preceded in death by her husband, Linwood Earl Story; a brother, Wayne Pixley; and a sister, Joyce Pixley. Betty was a member of Highland United Methodist Church and retired from Colonial Heights High School as a Secretary.
She is survived by two daughters, Betsy Story Duncan and husband, Mike, Lori-Ann Story; six grandchildren, Josh Neathery, Chad McAlister, Justin Minter, Justin Duncan, Jeremy Minter and Jordan Minter; one brother, Elmer Pixley; and one sister, Daphne Pond.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 7, 2017, from 6-8 p.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, VA 23834. Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the SPCA of Petersburg and Colonial Heights, 201 Temple Ave # E, Colonial Heights, VA 23834, Condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.
