Mrs. Phillips Death Occurs At Nicklas Home

Mrs. Isabelle Phillips, 87, a resident of this community her entire life, died at 3:05 a.m., today at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. Elmer Nicklas, 211 East Fourth street, after an illness of three months.

Mrs. Phillips was born at Nichols on Sept. 27, 1860, the daughter of Amos and Priscilla Mills. Her marriage to Andrew Cochran occurred on March 5, 1889, in Muscatine county and after his death she was married to Joe Phillips here on Sept. 27, 1927.

Surviving are the husband; one son, Roy Cochran, Muscatine; one daughter, Mrs. Elsie Todd, Rochester, Ia.; eight grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren. Her first husband, a son and a daughter preceded her in death.

The body is at the Ralph J. Wittich Funeral home and will remain there for services to be conducted at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday by the Rev. Walter Sieck, pastor of the Musserville Methodist church. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery.

MRS. PHILLIPS

Funeral services for Mrs. Isabelle Phillips, 87, a life-long resident of Muscatine, were held at 2:30 p.m. today at the Ralph J. Wittich funeral home with the Musserville Methodist church, officiating.

Singers were Mrs. Chester Hufford and Mrs. LeRoy Thomas, and Mrs. George Holliday was the organist. Flower attendants were Mrs. Anna Meyers, Mrs. Nora Mills and Mrs. Ada Geertz.

Pallbearers were Fred Mills, Frank Mills, Charles Mills, Gus Meyers, Charles Gierse and Charles Deahr. Burial was in Greenwood cemetery.
