The only daughter of Moses and Marie May, Beverly grew up in various towns in Pike County including Toler, Stone, and Belfry. She finished Belfry High School with honors. She married Robert Burnett shortly after high school and the two moved to Detroit where they raised two sons and two daughters and were a happy family for many years. Beverly got a job once the youngest was in school and later retired from Chrysler Financial with over 25 years. She and Robert divorced about 1977 and she later remarried to Harvey Watts and they lived in Livonia until they both became to old to manage a home. They spent their last couple of years in Assisted Living in Bloomfield Hills where they died of natural causes.
Beverly was a fun-loving person who loved to joke and smile, outgoing and witty. She and her mother and Harvey all enjoyed games of chance including cards, horse-racing, the lottery, and sometimes Bingo. She was an avid Detroit Tiger fan, inheriting a love of baseball from her parents. Beverly also inherited her mothers' financial skills. She saved her money all her life, spending only for needs and for personal enjoyments such as travel and her games of chance. She enjoyed financial security in her later years. She'll always be remembered for her big smile.
