Viola M. (Dill) Potter married 3) Andrew J. Merchant on September 1, 1881 in Gardiner, Maine.

She died at the home of her sister, Mrs. Loren (Josephine) Marriner. She was survived by one son, David Potter.

Cemetery records and funeral notice state she was buried in Oak Grove on December 16, 1915. No record of any of her husbands purchasing a lot, and she likely was buried in her parent's lot.

There is a stone for "Dora D." in the lot with no dates and Viola appears on the 1870 census of Gardiner living with her parents as "Dora Dill" so she is likely the Dora D. as their dates of births are the same as Viola's,
