Glenn Earl Newton
Glenn Newton passed away on May 20, 2017 at age 83. Glenn began his life journey in 1933 in Weleetka, Oklahoma. He was the fourth of five sons born to Oscar and Ethel Newton.
He spent much of his childhood in an orphanage in Norman Oklahoma. He graduated from High School in 1951 and joined the Air Force in 1952. His 26-year career included service during the Korean Conflict, with postings in Oregon, Montana, Virginia, Hawaii and Idaho. He retired as a Senior Master Sergeant in 1978.
Once retired from the Air Force, and kids out of the house he was a bit of a free spirit. He spent many years driving his RV around the countryside visiting friends and relatives. He spent his winters working on his tan in Florida, Texas, Arizona and Mexico. He also loved the Pacific Northwest and spent most of his summers on the coast with regular visits to Boise, which was always his base of operations. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors and shared those joys with his sons and friends.
Glenn is survived by two of his four brothers, sons Brian, Larry and Russell, and an extended family of in-laws, outlaws, nieces, nephews, grand children and great grand children.
Glenn will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery. The family would like to acknowledge the fantastic staff at Paramount Park in Eagle; the 4th floor Neuroscience team at St. Alphonsus Hospital and Kindred Care Nursing Home in Caldwell. People may recognize his legacy by making a contribution to the Idaho Alzheimer Foundation.
