Audrey O. Forkrud was born on April 11, 1930, on the family farm south of Sacred Heart, Minnesota, to Arlie and Olga (Tufto) Anderson. She grew up on the family farm and graduated from Renville High School in 1947. Audrey was united in marriage to Donald ‘Bud” Forkrud on July 3, 1949, in Sacred Heart. Audrey and Bud lived in Belview, Minnesota, from 1949 until 1955, when they moved to Clara City. They lived in Clara City until 1983, it was at this time they built their home on Audrey’s family’s home place south of Sacred Heart. Bud passed away in 2001, and at this time, Audrey moved into Sacred Heart. She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and also belonged to a sewing club and card club in Clara City. She enjoyed cooking, playing cards, sewing, and spending time with her grandchildren. Audrey loved to take care of her family and one of her greatest joys was having them all at her cabin on Green Lake.
Survivors include her sons and daughter: Darrell, Dave, Kris and Duane; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bud, her son Darwin, and one brother and one sister.
