Witbeck, Daniel - Witbeck,Daniel age 85, of Bluebell, passed away May 22 2017 at his home. he was born March 01 1932 in Roosevelt to Dee & Margaret Billings Whitbeck. He married Lilly Darlene Taylor, and they were later divorced. He married Jeneal Huff On Dec 06 1976 in the Provo LDS Temple. Dan was a partner in a pre-cast concrete business for a time. He had graduated from Utah State Univ with a Bachelor;s Degree of Science and used that degree to teach drafting, industrial arts, and math at Vernal Jr High School and then at Thompson Elem in Ioka, retiring after 15 yrs of teaching there. He was a master builder and a carpente, and a excellent gardener - some say he had two great thumb. Hen enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and helping other people. He was always teaching, especially his children, and was often on the look-out for a teaching opportunity. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in various capacaties, including the Boy Scouts, in the Bishropic, as a High Coucilor, and lastly as a LDS Temple Worker. Dan was a loving father and grandfather and will be dearly missed. He is survived by his children, Dennis (Diane) Witbeck, Wendover, Ut, Martha Witbeck Hall of Roosevelt, Racine Mace, White House, TN, Brad (Jill) Whitbeck of St George, Ut Jordan (Sherman) Whitbeck, 16 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, a sister Nancy (Roy) Pistorius, Draper, Ut and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a great granddaughter, Madison Grayless and h is nine siblings. Funeral services will be h eld Thurs May 25 2017 at 11 oo a.m. at the Altamont LDS Stake Center where there will be a viewing on Wed from 6 - 8 p.m. and on Thurs from 10 to 10 45 a.m. Burial will be in the Bluebell Cem.
