Born in September 2012, he was lovingly fostered by Friends of Wayne Animals (FOWA) until adopted by me on Saturday, October 24, 2015.

He was a beautiful orange cat with light green eyes and a cream-tipped tail which could be seen in the dark as if it were a fiber-optic wand.

His disposition was gentle, sweet, affectionate and playful.

In addition to catnapping, he particularly enjoyed watching wildlife, birds and bugs from various sun-soaked windows.

He spent the first three years of his life in foster care ranked lowest in the pecking order, which made him extremely wary and skittish of just about everything.

In the months following his adoption, he gradually began to discover the inherent possibilities of his serendipitous position as the sole cat in residence. Upon concluding I was a total pushover in all matters concerning himself, he made it very clear he was now Boss Cat.

Without warning, my Murphy was suddenly taken from me on Sunday, May 7, 2017. Only aged four and one-half years, his heart gave out, and he died gently cradled in my arms.

Although his time was brief, those 568 days we had together were really good for Murphy and me.
