He was born September 22, 1952 in Rowan County, a son of the late William Snowden “Pete” and Hilda Johnson Kennedy. A resident of Davidson County during his early years, Randy graduated from Ledford High School where he announced football games. He was also a graduate of Davidson County Community College. He was an IT Specialist with Preferred Furniture Components and was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. Randy enjoyed going to the beach, playing music and recording songs. He played the bass guitar in various bands including Thirteenth Hour, Hyper, Medium Cool and Sassy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Matthew Norris.
He leaves to cherish his memory; his wife, Jeanette Transeau Kennedy; his brother, Dwight Kennedy; his sister, Myra Dix and husband Steve and his nephew, Zac.
A service to celebrate Randy’s life will be held on Thursday, February 23 at 5:00 pm in the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale with Reverend David Emery officiating. The family will speak to friends following the service.
