"Albert F Xander, 64, of 82 Oxford St, a retired employe of the Kendall Refining Co, died in Bradford Hospital at 2:15 am, Sunday. He had been ill several years and in critical condition the past two weeks. He was born at Seneca, Venango County, March 26, 1899, a son of the late Frederick and Margaret Rembold Xander. He married the former Elda Stephens at Franklin, June 30, 1920. The couple moved here in 1933. For a period of 10 years Mr Xander worked for the Kendall, retiring in 1957 because of failing health. He was a member of the First Methodist Church, [t]he Yorkfellows Sunday School Class, and a member of the church choir for 18 years. Surviving besides his widow are a son, Albert Frederick Xander of Corry; two daughters, Mrs Donald (Jean) McAdams and Mrs Robert (Donna) Hemmerly, both of Bradford; a brother, Harry Xander of Seneca; four sisters, Mrs Millie Heckathorne, Mrs Nellie Heckathorne and Mrs Effie Uplinger, all of Oil City, and Mrs Edna Shreffler of Sebring, [Fla]; and nine grandchildren. Friends are being received in the Hollenbeck Funeral Chapel. The body will be taken Tuesday noon to the First Methodist Church, where a prayer service will be conducted at 1:30 pm. Officiating will be the Rev Roland Osgood, pastor, and the Rev Marion Finch, associate pastor. Burial will be in the Willow Dale Cemetery."

"A F Xander, Ex-Resident Of Area, Dies - Albert F Xander, 64, a resident of Bradford for the past 30 years and before that a resident of this area, died at 2:15 am Sunday in the Bradford Hospital. Mr Xander had been disabled for the past six years and was injured about 10 years ago in an accident while at work for Kendall Oil. Born in Seneca, March 26, 1899, he was a son of the late Fred and Margaret Rembold Xander. He worked in the oil fields and was employed at one time by the National Transit Company before he became affiliated with Kendall. He was a member of the First Methodist Church in Bradford. He married the former Elda Stephens, June 30, 1920. She survives. Mr Xander is also survived by a son, Albert Xander of Corry; two daughters, Mrs Donald (Jean) McAdams and Mrs Robert (Donna) Hemmerly of Bradford; nine grandchildren; a brother, Harry Xander of Seneca, and four sisters, Mrs Donald (Edna) Shreffler of Sebring, Fla, Mrs Millie Heckathorne, Mrs Nellie Heckathorne and Mrs Blaine (Effie) Uplinger, all of Oil City. Friends are being received at the Hollenbeck Funeral Home in Bradford, where funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 pm today. Interment will be in Bradford."
