"The Sabbath Recorder", Vol 39, No 25, p 8, June 21, 1883.

In Walworth, Wis., June 5, 1883, of heart disease, Russell E. Crumb, aged 68 years and 7 months. The deceased was born in Plainfield, Otsego Co., N. Y., Nov. 6, 1814. He was the eleventh child of a family of fourteen children, and the last of nine brothers. Three sisters survive him. He spent most of his years in his native town, he and his family having moved to Walworth in 1872. In early life he experienced religion, was baptized by Eld. Wm. B. Maxson, and became a member of the First Brookfield Seventh-day Baptist Church. He was a man of a kind spirit, and possessed many good qualities. By his sudden death, a wife and four children are bereft of a loving companion and a father's counsel. How rapidly are the fathers and mothers passing away. May the children emulate their virtues, and make the world better by a sanctified use of the superior privileges and advantages which they have.
