Connie D. Van Horn, age 71, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2017 in Winter Haven. Born July 7, 1945 in Lake Hamilton, she was the daughter of the late Otis William and Geraldine (Taylor) Stripling. Connie was a home maker and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, and mamaw. She is survived by a loving family that includes her husband, 39 years, Terry Van Horn of Lake Buffum, her children: James Ray Watkins of Lake Wales, Tina Manter of Ocala, and Tonya Braswell (Larry) of Lake Buffum. She also leaves behind her two sisters: Pat Smith (Greg) of Haines City, Mary Ann Roth of Charlotte, NC, her grandchildren: Harold D. Sykes (Jessica), Rey Zamora, Samantha Manter, Joshua Edwards, Matthew Watkins, and her great granddaughter Emma Sykes. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 2nd from 1pm to 2pm at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow, Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00pm at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Gandy Cemetery in Connersville.
