Mary L. Lockwood, 93, of Vandalia, Illinois, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 14, 2016, in Vandalia, IL.

Services were held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, December 17, 2016, at Mt. Carmel Church, Rural Ramsey, with Pastor Greg Shannon, officiating. Burial was at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Rural Ramsey, IL.

She was born March 30, 1923, in Bayle City, IL, the daughter of Albert & Rose May (Craig) Walstrom. She married James Waldo Lockwood on February 26, 1946, Shelbyville, IL. She worked at the Pana Livestock Pavillion for many years and for the Ramsey School District as a bus driver and later a cook. For over 40 years she served as trustee for the Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Rural Ramsey, IL. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Church.

Mary was best known for her quilting. She owned and operated Mary's Quilt House for 40 years and her quilts have been sent around the world. She was a homemaker and the best mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.

She is survived by a son and daughter, 6 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, 4 brothers, Victor, Nova, Clarence & Gusta and 4 sisters, Maggie, Della, Lillian & Myrtle.
