He was born November 11, 1937 in Rupert, Arkansas to John Henry and Chloe Lee (Reeves) Gardner.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Johnny Gene Gardner; and three grandchildren.
Survivors include four sons, Terry Gardner (and wife, Barbara) of Adkins, Roger Gardner (and wife, Linda) of Conway, Mike Gardner (and wife, Debbie) of Hot Springs, and Kevin Gardner (and wife, Amanda) of Kansas City, Missouri; two daughters, Katrina Holland (and husband, Brian) of Ward, Arkansas, and Billie Jean Robledo of Little Rock; thirteen grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
A Memorial service will be held at a later date.
Burial will be in Foster Cemetery, in Scotland, Arkansas.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Madison County Funeral Service of Huntsville.
