She was a native of Guilford County and a daughter of the late Robert Samuel Jenkins and Inez McGee Saint Sing Jenkins. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Forest City. She retired from the Library at Queens College with 23 years of service and formerly worked for the Public Library of Mecklenburg County.
Survivors include two sisters, Nell Jenkins Moss of Forest City and Robbie M. Dunlap of Summerville, S.C.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m Tuesday April 4, 2006, in the First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Jim Shroyer officiating. Interment will be in the Cool Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be held in the Ladies Parlor of the church from 1:30 p.m. until the hour of service.
