Linda Lee Ortiz, age 65 of Wardensville, WV, passed away Saturday evening, May 27, 2017 at the Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, VA. Born on July 17, 1951 in Baltimore, MD, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Edward Stephens and Thelma Madeline Frye Stephens. Her husband, Arnold Ortiz preceded her in death on April 15, 2017. A son, Timothy Arnold Ortiz; four sisters Mary Kathleen Schafer, Diane Detty, Joann Rampmeyer and Nancy Moser also preceded her in death.

Linda was a legal secretary for See Law Office in Moorefield for 12 years and left there for a job in the Hardy County Family Court for over 9 years. Coming from a large family, her immediate family, especially her grandchildren, was very important to her as she spent as much time with them as she could. Her late husband spoiled her by doing all of the cooking and cleaning, leaving Linda plenty of time for reading and “shopping”.

Surviving is a daughter-in-law, Christina Ortiz of Wardensville, WV; grandchildren, Kirsten Ortiz, McKayla Ortiz and Ava Vallejo; two brothers: Michael Stephens of Lexington, NC; Joseph Edward Stephens, Jr. of Baltimore, MD; three sisters: Patricia Johnson, Judith “Judy” Lintz both of Baltimore, MD and Christine Walton of Largo, FL and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be scheduled for a later date.
