Fred graduated from Breck High School and then graduated from University of Minnesota with a business administration degree.
Fred entered the United States Navy and became a naval aviator during the Korean Conflict. He worked in personnel and human relations.
Fred was married to Cynthia Hagen on May 6, 1961 in St. Paul, MN. They owned and operated Video Plus in Rice Lake for 12 years.
Fred is survived by his wife of 56 years, Cynthia Hansen of Sarona; a son, Todd Hansen of Stillwater, MN; a daughter, Kimberly Brody of Boulder, CO; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Mary Hansen; and a sister, Janet Smith.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Grace Episcopal Church in Rice Lake, with the Very Reverend Father Scott Kirby officiating. Interment will be at a later date in Roselawn Cemetery in St. Paul, MN.
