Janet Faye Walters, age 72 of Ripley, Ohio passed away Saturday, April 29, 2017 at the Anderson Mercy Hospital in Anderson Township, Ohio. She retired from The Ohio State University Extension Office in Brown County where she worked as a secretary, was a long-standing active member of the Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church near Hamersville, Ohio and her hobbies included gardening, decorating her home and spending time with her grandchildren, family and many friends. Janet was born July 31, 1944 in Carlisle, Kentucky the daughter of the late Henry Austin Hildreth and Lois Evelyn (Workman) Hildreth. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother - Jack L Hildreth and one son-in-law - Lester Thomas Brumfield.

Ms. Walters is survived by a very special companion - Lyman Smith of Ripley, Ohio; two daughters - Cindy Brumfield of Mt. Orab, Ohio and Susan Kelsey (Doug) of Mt. Orab, Ohio; six grandchildren - Bethany Blust (Les Whisner) of Russellville, Ohio, Todd Blust (Stephanie) of Fayetteville, Ohio, Derek Brumfield of Mt. Orab, Ohio, Lori Nethero (Eric) of Bethel, Ohio, Sarah Kelsey of Mt. Orab, Ohio, and Allison Steeley (Austin) of Mt. Orab, Ohio; three great-grandchildren - Austin Blust, Ethan Blust and Brooklyn Whisner, and her little buddy – Millie.

Memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, May 13, 2017 at the Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church, 11693 State Route 774, Bethel, Ohio 45106. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M. Saturday at the church.
