She was a daughter of Frank and Beatrice (Barlow) Sochia. She was educated locally.
She married Howard Greenwood in September, 1956. He died in 1965.
She married Reginald Sample in May of 1983. He died in 1991.
At one time Martha bowled on the Bowling Bells League, and the Ladies Pool League. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, playing cards sitting by the camp fire, and listening to country music.
Surviving was her companion of 20 years Ronald J. LaPage; four daughters, Tina Lucey, Regina Brabon, Donna Nichols, and Marilea (Timothy) Mainville; fifteen grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, thirty-eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren
She was predeceased by a sister, Janice Brabon; and a brother, Curtis Sochia, during his infancy.
