D. Wayne Figgins “Big Fig”
August 2, 1942 - June 1, 2017

Wayne Figgins “Big Fig”, 74, passed away on June 1, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Florence, from heart complications. He retired from the US Air Force, after 24 years, in 1987 and again retired from Fernald in 2000. He spent many years traveling with his family, while in the Air Force, and made many wonderful close friends. He and his family eventually settled in Burlington, KY, where he was a member of Burlington Baptist Church and involved with volunteer work. He loved to read and play golf but his greatest love was capturing family moments on pictures. He was preceded in death by his son Mathew. He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years Brenda (nee Barnett), daughter Lisa Figgins Stones (Mark), adopted father of Regina (Tom), Tony (Carol), Debbie (Joe), Tim (Sandi), brother Harry (Cheryl), Mike (Coleen), Eddie (Terry), and sister Linda (Dan). He is also survived by 4 grandchildren and one great grandson. He also adored his nieces and nephews who he dearly loved. A visitation will be held on Monday, June 5, 2017 from 10am until 12:30pm at Burlington Baptist Church. The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation and begin at 12:30pm. Interment will be at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
