Christine R. Devinney, 74, passed away on Thrusday, May 25, 2017 at her home. Born May 20, 1943 in Shade Gap, she was a daughter of the late Andrew M. and Hazel M. Flood Miller. Christine was employed as a CNA at Piney Mountain Nursing Home for 34 years until her retirement. She enjoyed her job and loved taking care of people.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Charles Divinney, whom she married on February 27, 1962; her daughter, Debra G. Leydig (Curt) of Greencastle; her granddaughter, Renee Rouch (Paul); three great-grandsons, Austin Day, Paul Rouch, Jr., and Charles Wonders, Jr.; and three siblings, Leon Miller of Blairs Mills, Eugene Miller of Fayetteville, and Gerdine Devlin of Shade Gap. In addition to her parents, Christine was preceded in death by a six-year-old daughter, Helen Marie Devinney in 1969; and two siblings, Mary Traxler, and Robert Miller.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2017 in Fair Ridge Cemetery, Shade Gap, Rev. Marlin A. "Butch" Neil will officiate. Arrangements are entrusted to Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg. The family would like to express their thanks to caregivers, Gene and Marlena Deter, Brian Hutchison, Edna Bradnick, and Renee Emerson.
