Donald Ray Samuel Sr, nicknamed by family as “Tooter”, by friends as Chief, and a select few as Tonto, was taken from this earth on May 22, 2017 to be with the Lord. He passed peacefully in his home in Humble Texas after fighting a fierce 2 1/2 year battle with cancer.

Donald was born in Talimena Oklahoma on November 25, 1958. He graduated from Smithville high school class of 77.

Donald was married to Jay Harvey on August 29, 2015 while they were only married a short time they shared almost 10 years together. Donald worked as a superintendent for Pyramid Waterproofing for over 17 years. He loved his job and often said it put him closer to God when he was atop a tall skyscraper. He had a passion for fishing and being on the water. Catch or no catch he was always at peace on the water. Donald was also a very competitive Dart player and an avid Texan football fan.

Donald is survived by his loving wife Jay Harvey, sons Donald Samuel Jr, and Kevin Samuel, daughter MaryBeth Hollister, step children Tapanga Harvey and Gohan Harvey.

Donald is also survived by his siblings Charles Samuel, Darlene Baker, Lacynthia Brannon, and Isaac Benn as well as several aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, other family and friends.

Donald is preceded in death by his father Pat Joe Samuel, his mother Dora Bertha Wilson, brothers Dorman, Wilson, Benn Jr (Cobby), and Alfred Joe Samuel; his Grandmother Julia Tims and Daughter April Sherrill.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm on June 1st at Rosewood Funeral Home, in Humble Tx.

Oklahoma funeral services will be held at 1 pm at the Indian Baptist church of Smithville on June 3rd.

Burial will follow this service at Beach cemetery, also in Smithville, Oklahoma under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
