JOHNSON, Mrs. Michele M. Kalamazoo, MI Michele passed away Tuesday October 27, 2009, at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, D.C. , surrounded by her family, the people she loved most. She was born September 4, 1958, in Wyandotte, MI, daughter of George and Gladys (Upper) Withey. In 1980, Michele graduated from Western Michigan University, where she met Paul, her loving husband of 29 years, who survives. For the last 20 years, Michele worked as a project manager for Pfizer, where she was both loved and highly esteemed by her co-workers. She attended Northeastern Baptist Church and loved to travel. She devoted her life to her family, especially her daughters, Kristin and Danielle Johnson, 24 and 22, who also survive her. She was preceded in death by her mother. Other survivors include: her father, George Withey; her brother and sister-in-law, Gregg and Lauren Withey; nieces and nephews, notably Brady, her godson, Quinn, and Kennedy, whom she loved as her own children; and sister- and brothers-in-law Jenny, Brad, and Wade Johnson. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street. Services will be held 1:00 Monday afternoon at Northeastern Baptist Church, 6536 East G Avenue, with Pastor George Coon, officiating. Interment in Riverside Cemetery will follow services. Michele's family has designated the Kalamazoo Humane Society, Ministry with Community or SPCA of SW Michigan for memorial contributions.
