CARDIN, Mark Douglas, born January 11, 1963, of Madisonville, passed away Monday, May 29, 2017, at his home. Mark was 54 years old, and attended Wilson Station Presbyterian Church. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp, and served in Beirut, Lebanon, when the Marine military barracks were bombed, killing 241 American servicemen. Mark survived this act of terrorism, and died in his sleep on Memorial Day, 34 years later. He is preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Fay Dailey Cardin; sister, Sandra Cardin Cagle; infant brother, Lester Franklin Cardin.

Survivors included brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Sharon Cardin, of Nashville; brother and partner, Curtis Cardin and Betsy Clayton, of Maryville; sister and brother-in-law, Kim (Cardin) and Tim Maxwell, of Vonore; brother-in-law, Randy Cagle, of Ooltewah; his beloved nieces and nephews, Brian Cagle and wife Erin, of Chicago, Il; Miranda Cagle Taj and husband Sujell, of Chattanooga, Clay Cardin, of LaVergne, Jessie Cardin, of Mt Juliet, Nicole Maxwell Wenzel and husband Kenny, of Lake Villa, IL, Erik Maxwell, of Nashville; great nieces and nephew, Sierra Cardin, of Greenbrier, TN, Chelsea Cardin, of Downingtown, PA, Silas Taj, of Chattanooga.

Memorial Service 3:00 P.M., Sunday, Biereley-Hale Chapel, Rev. Darrell Cardin officiating. Military Honors provided by VFW Post 5156, DAV Chapter 93, American Legion 106. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 P.M., Sunday, Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville.
