Shirley Ann Woodring Naylor 84, of Mt. Zion, Illinois, passed away at 1:15 a.m. Wednesday May 31, 2017, in St. John’s Hospital Springfield, Illinois.

Shirley was the daughter of Frank and Verna Woodring of Moweaqua. She graduated from Tower Hill High School in 1948.

Shirley married Donald W. Naylor from Chicago, where she lived for many years. To this union, were born six children, Stephen Wilde Naylor, Debbie Naylor, Brian Naylor of Chicago, Charanne Naylor. Twins were also born to this union but died at birth. She also leaves one sister, Betty Woodring. She also leaves several grandchildren.

Shirley moved to Mount Zion from Chicago in 1990. She served on the board for DMCOC and volunteered at the Mount Zion senior center for several years.

She loved to visit her daughter in Colorado and had just returned from there when she fell and broke her leg and then had a massive heart attack.

Shirley was a gourmet cook and loved to bake for others especially at the senior center in Mount Zion. She also loved beautiful clothes as well as jewelry. She loved to keep an immaculate house and loved to look well-dressed at all times. She also loved her dogs, especially Gigi who lived with her at present time in Mount Zion.
