GOLDTHWAITE — Nick Corona, 89, of Goldthwaite, passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2017 in Goldthwaite.
On Sept. 9, 1927, Nick Corona was born in Goldthwaite to Joe Corona and Gila Corrales Corona.
He married Janie Gonzales on Sept. 25, 1959 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Goldthwaite.
He was a pecan harvester and a sheer shearer.
Nick was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church in Goldthwaite and a lifetime resident of Goldthwaite. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He loved to attend and support all his family in school, sports, graduation and individual events. He enjoyed entertaining his family with his music and lyrics.
Survivors include his wife, Janie Corona of Goldthwaite; children, Elva Cantu of Brownwood, Tony Corona and wife Sandra of Brownwood and Ricky Corona and wife Luz of Brownwood; eight grandchildren, Sandro Cantu and wife Julie, Melissa Cantu, Nick Cantu, Marcus Corona, Ryan Corona, Paulette Rosales, Jose Luis Rosales and Ricky Corona Jr.; and four great-grandchildren, Jake, Stella, Miles and Aubrey.
He was Preceded in death by his parents; four sisters; and five brothers.
Pallbearers include Sandro Cantu, Nick Cantu, Mark Corona, Jon Jones, Jose Rosales, Ricky Corona Jr. and Miles Jones.
