Larry Lee Lovell, 68, of Dahinda, Illinois, peacefully passed away at home with his family by his side on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at 12:30 P.M.
Larry was born December 26, 1948 in Keokuk, Iowa the son of William A. and Evelyn (Franks) Lovell. He was a graduate of Bowen High School and Western Illinois University. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. Larry also served as a Fire Fighter for 23 years with the 16 House in Peoria, Illinois. He married Paulette Lowe on August 4, 1984 in Peoria, Illinois.
He was a member of the Peoria, Illinois VFW, and loved golfing and fishing. He was a beloved husband, brother, and uncle.
Larry is survived by his loving wife; Paulette Lovell of Dahinda, step-son; Jay Decker of Edwards, Illinois, step-grandson; Thomas Reynolds of Columbia, Missouri, sister; Cindy Lovell of Basco, Illinois, brother; Jack (Rhonda) Lovell of Augusta, Illinois, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; William and Evelyn Lovell, and his brother; Michael Lovell.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 6, 2017 from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at The Oaks Community Church in rural Dahinda, Illinois. The memorial service will directly follow the visitation at 12:00 P.M. Rev. Marty Briney will be officiating the service. The Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home and Crematory in Knoxville is assisting the family. Memorial contributions may be left to The Oaks Community Church.
