H. Maxine Slattery Berg, age 79, of Rice Lake, died on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Lakeview Medical Center in Rice Lake. She was born on June 25, 1937 in Black Creek, WI to Leslie and Florence (Stephen) Patient.

Maxine was married to James "JT" Slattery on October 31, 1963 in Minnesota and he preceded her in death in 1993. She was married to Lloyd Berg in May 1998 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Maxine worked for Rand's Bowling Lanes in Rice Lake as their manager for over 25 years.

She loved to read, play cards and go to the casino. She was active in the Red Hat Society, Lakeview Medical Center Auxiliary, Rice Lake Elks Club, Rice Lake Moose Lodge and American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by three daughters, Renay Tait of Eau Claire, Tammy (Jesus) Cabral of Barron, WI and Stephanie Slattery (Dwain Woodley) of Chula Vista, CA; a son, James (Roxy) Slattery II of Chetek; 13 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; a brother, Paul Patient. She was preceded in death by her husbands, James Slattery and Lloyd Berg; a son, Michael Slattery; parents, Leslie and Florence Patient; and a brother, John Patient.

Funeral services were held on Monday, May 15, 2017 at Appleyard's Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, Rev. John Kurschner officiating. Interment was in Nora Cemetery in Rice Lake.
