Son of Lt. Franklin Miller and Malvina Jackson Hatfield, husband of Laura J. Miles Hatfield and Claudia Mae Campbell Hatfield.

HATFIELD-Funeral services for Absalom Riley Hatfield, 92, pioneer resident of Waldens Ridge (Summertown), who died Monday, will be held at 10:30 o'clock Wednesday morning at the funeral home of J. Avery Bryan Co., the Rev. A. Bruce Coyle officiating. Mr. Hatfield was the son of Franklin Miller and Malvina Jackson Hatfield. He was a member of the Signal Mountain Baptist Church. Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Claudia Campbell Hatfield, Signal Mountain; four daughters, Mrs. Helen Cureton, LaFayette, GA, Mrs. Elizabeth Hembree, Orlando, FL, Mrs. Dorothy Masino, Philadelphia, PA, and Mrs. Myra Colby, Fallbrook, CA; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Interment in Chattanooga Memorial Park. Pallbearers: Gordon Campbell, Arlie Hoodenpyle, Roy Gothard, Robert Goodman, Reece Vandergriff and Larry Gothard. The body is at the funeral home of J. Avery Bryan Co.
